Abstract:
This presentation discusses ways that we can orient ourselves when the unexpected occurs, even if we feel like we, as caregivers, have been turned “upside down.” Learn how to apply what is already understood about helping head-down babies for shoulder dystocia and the breech descending baby. We will cover how to move with reassurance while also recognizing the importance of timing to help a breech baby. This session provides a brief overview for assisting the surprise breech birth.
