Abstract:
Emerging research and evidence is concluding that many fathers of newborn children also battle with a form of postpartum depression (PPD). In this presentation licensed therapist Luis Resendez shares both his personal experience in dealing with postpartum depression after the birth of his first son and insights from current research. The presentation will include information of how postpartum depression affects men, signs and symptoms of the disorder in men, and what could be done to address this as well as connecting new fathers with any support they may need.
