This informative and interactive event offers an exciting opportunity to come together with the international midwifery community and to connect with the latest information on breech birth.
Barbara Harper is an internationally recognized expert on waterbirth and the founder of Waterbirth International. Charlotte Sanchez brings to this event her 30 years of experience supporting home births, and also her 10 years of serving as Vice President of the Georgia Midwife Association. Together they’ll be presenting their eye-opening insights on breech waterbirth.
Many parts of the world have seen a resurgence of vaginal breech birth, and along with this has come ongoing studies, published research, and hands-on training for this area of care. Within the birthing community there is controversy surrounding the use of water for the second stage. During this webinar, we’ll hear the pros and cons of facilitating breech birth in water from a provider perspective. You’ll also have an opportunity to examine fetal reflexes and newborn transitional physiology. Our speakers will share photos and videos to teach you all about various hand positions and techniques to assist with breech birth.
